Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Mackenzie Dowdy, and I am a 2027 C/1B from Valrico, FL where I attend Durant High School and play travel softball for Florida Impact Grooms. I train for catching at Dominate the Dish with Kirsten Cox for the past 5 years. Two of my biggest strengths are framing and my arm strength. My pull down is 70 mph. I also am a strong hitter. When I’m in the box I am constantly thinking about the situation and my count. I am just as dedicated to my academics as I am athletics. My current high school GPA is a 4.3 and I earned Principal’s Honor Roll all throughout middle school, even while taking 3 high school courses my eighth grade year. I take all honors and AP classes now and am also an AVID student. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
